Printing with brims has also been improved. Brims will now print faster and should be easier to remove. WebJun 14, 2024 · There is going to be a Z seam. It's the nature of the FDM process. Playing with "outer wall wipe distance" and "outer before inner walls" can have an effect but in the end - there is going to be a Z seam. If you are printing a cylinder or a ball, there are no corners to hide it in.

WebJun 2, 2024 · Cura z seam alignment There is a cool option under the shell settings in Cura which is called Z seam alignment. Basically, it allows you to choose the starting point of each new layer. This is useful for models with consecutive equal layers as the seam can be visible. By changing the Z-seam alignment you can decrease the visibility of the seam.
WebThe interesting part is now Seam Corner preference. It was set to Smart Hide which means as I understand it right that cura decides wether the seam is inside or outside. That would explain why the seam isnt on all models visible. I now changed it to Hide Seam which should force the seam to be inside. The Hide Seam setting doesn't mean that the Seam is hidden so you can't see it anymore. It's quite intuitive; The material is not "tight" in the bowden tube. It's a bit like a breaking cable from the bike. If you put pressure on it, it's first moving the bowden tube, putting pressure on it.
